Symptoms Of A Blown Head Gasket
Often the first initial thing we see is a climbing temperature gauge, or a warning light on the dashboard. You should pull over at this point to make sure a radiator or coolant hose hasn’t blown or a fanbelt has broken and no longer powering the fan. Check to see if you in fact have enough coolant, if no routine maintenance has been carried out there just may not be enough to perform its role.
Early symptoms can be a signpost of things to come:
- Have you been constantly been adding coolant?
- Has the car been losing power?
There are a number of checks a mechanic can do as he has more tools like C02 testers, die testers and cooling system tester pumps.
However there are some easy tests that you can do.
- Check the radiator to see if the water is bubbling. If it is, there is air getting into the system which is a classic symptom.
- If there are no bubbles at the end of driving for the day when the engine is warm leave for the night then take out the spark plugs in the morning when everything is cold and check to see if any plugs are wet, emulsified or coloured (from burning coloured coolant).
- Or finally, look for coolant stains around the engine compartment when coolant could have escaped externally and the water content has evaporated.
Remember, to continue driving an overheated car may not just blow a head gasket but could seize the engine completely.
Blown Head Gaskets Can Be Very Confusing.
The term “blown head gasket” is often used a bit like the term “cold”, we say we have a cold but it could be the flu, a cough, congestion, head cold you get my drift.
The term blown head gasket is used as a catch all… it can mean you have a crack in the head, burned valves a warped head and of course a blown head gasket to name but a few. Because of this it is often difficult to diagnose the actual problem or in fact what caused the problem. At the same time of fixing the problem you should look for the potential cause of the problem.
An example would be a thermostat failed to work and seized up in the closed position, this stopped the flow of coolant therefore pretty much the coolant in the engine tries to cool with nothing coming from the radiator. The temperature builds up the cylinder head bends(warps) under the heat and pressure and then the head gasket can’t restrain the heat, water and oil anymore and fails.
The mechanic will tell you that you have a blown head gasket. He may then remorselessly tell you that the head needs rebuilding the gasket replaced head bolts need to be replaced, cooling system cleaned out and a new cap and thermostat and while we have it stripped down a new water pump!
How do we really know what’s happened or what is the damage before starting doing some serious damage to the bank account.
Funnily enough the tests that you can carry out today are pretty much the same as the last 60-70 years and you can look at things like bubbles in the radiator and decide what are the chances of fixing the problem without huge bills or making a decision to sell, wreck or trade. If you check out our website at http://www.liquidintelligence.com.au and click instructions on the tool bar there are instructions about using Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown cylinder head that I’m sure will help you.
Checking The Radiator Visually
I have added a few clips that I found for you on YouTube. I have also made a comment on each one as to the potential success of using Liquid Intelligence 245 on repairing these various head gasket problems.
|The first clip shows light bubbling in the radiator water. This level of bubbling would indicate a small pin hole or a developing imperfection in the head gasket and is easily fixed using Liquid Intelligence 245. The success rate on this type of repair is very high.|
|The second clip shows a similar level of bubbling as clip one but escalates as the engine warms up. This would indicate a small cylinder head crack that is easily fixed using Liquid Intelligence 245.|
|The third clip shows a much higher level of bubbling that would indicate a large breach or multiple breaches in the head gasket. And because of the extreme pressures being generated in the combustion chambers and cooling system, this level of head gasket damage is not always repairable using Liquid Intelligence 245. The success rate of using Liquid Intelligence 245 on this type of head gasket damage is around 50/50. Faced with an expensive mechanical repair Liquid Intelligence 245 is still certainly worth a shot.|
|Water and smoke out of the exhaust
This is what a car looks like when a head gasket is going. This amount of smoke would indicate a breach or multiple breaches in the head gasket above one or more of the combustion chambers. At first it will start out as a little sputtering when first started… then a little bit of smoke… and as the days go by, the smoke can increase to this embarrassing level.
|Bubbling in the radiator water indicates a breach in the head gasket above one of the combustion chambers.
And the amount of bubbling of water in the radiator would indicate the size of the head gasket breach. A small pin hole in the head gasket would produce light bubbling….. whilst a substantial head gasket blow out could empty the entire cooling system of radiator water.
This video is designed to judge the potential success of using Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown Head Gasket Repair on restoring various levels of head gasket damage.

To avoid overpaying for a fix when you have a blown head gasket… then you need to keep reading.
Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown Head Gasket Repair is formulated to fast seal gasket ruptures in your engine… without the need of an expensive engine dismantling.
Some of these products have been known to provide a temporary fix for a time… but only the unique thermo bonding technology of Liquid Intelligence 245 can provide a permanent fix to a blown head gasket problem.
What Is Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown Head Gasket Repair And How Does It Work
A common use for Liquid Intelligence 245 is when an aluminium head engine is left sitting for extended periods or the coolant is not changed at proper intervals, electrolysis or erosion can damage sections of the head causing the head gasket to fail.
Rather than remove the cylinder head and replace the head gasket, Liquid Intelligence 245 can be poured into the radiator water at a 5% solution and allowed to circulate. Liquid Intelligence 245 is injected via the radiator water into and around the damaged head gasket. This sealing technique works because at >110°C the Liquid Intelligence 245’s unique formula loses water molecules on the hot metal surface between the damaged head gasket and the block to form a very powerful sealant that will not re-melt below 900°C.
A Liquid Intelligence 245 repair of a leaking head gasket can hold for many years. The effect will be almost instant, and steam from the radiator water will stop coming out the exhaust within minutes of application.
(Please refer to the instructions for application of the product on this site, as this will ensure optimum results. A copy of the instructions will also come with the product)

DIAGNOSING A BLOWN HEAD GASKET.
What can cause white smoke from the exhaust?
Has your car severely overheated recently? Does the smoke smell like antifreeze? If it does, you probably have a blown head gasket. The “smoke” in this case is actually steam from water leaking into the cylinders. Also check for yellow or white goo on the oil cap and dipstick, indicating water leaks to the oil.
Your symptoms are indicating a possible head gasket problem. You have water going into the combustion chamber and coming out the back tailpipe as steam. Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown Head Gasket Repair can fix this…
Does your exhaust pipe look like this video?
This type of blown head gasket produces a lot of white smoke… it means that one or more of the water channel gaskets are broken and radiator coolant is getting into the combustion cylinder… Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown Head Gasket Repair can fix this…
What can cause loss of power and poor acceleration?
Blown head gasket. You’ll know which cylinder(s) have coolant leaking into them by the colour of the spark plugs – they’ll be white/chalky if they’ve been subjected to coolant in the cylinder.
Most importantly, do not drive that car until you fix it! The coolant is washing all the oil off the cylinder walls and you’ll destroy the rings in that cylinder, not to mention the damage to the cylinder wall. That gets real expensive, fast. Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown Head Gasket Repair can fix this…
What can cause oil to leak into the radiator water?
Blown head gasket is one possibility… and the most likely… plus transmission oil cooler built into the radiator, can also leak into the radiator water. Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown Head Gasket Repair can fix this…

What can cause bubbles in the radiator?
Does your radiator coolant look like this video?
A fine or minor leak in the head gasket can pressurize the cooling system from the engine compression causing the coolant to bubble in the radiator. Liquid Intelligence 245 Blown Head Gasket Repair can fix this…
This Is What Happens When You Have A Blown Head Gasket
She Fixed It Herself… And Saved A Bundle
Celia’s situation is very typical and she has kindly allowed me to tell of her experience.
Like most head gasket problems Celia’s came out of nowhere.
It happened all at once while driving home one particularly hot day when her Ford Falcon just started over heating and losing power. She also noticed a lot of White smoke blowing from the exhaust. Fortunately she was close by so she was able to just make it home.
A mechanic friend was able to diagnose the problem as a blown head gasket. He explained that the cost of a replacement gasket is usually not extreme, but the price of total repair can be significantly high. This is because removing and replacing an engine head is very time consuming….. around 75% of cost will be labour.
His quote was around $900 which he thought was pretty cheap….but that was dependent on what he found when he got the head off. If the head was corroded or warped it was going to be quite a bit more.
Even though this was a cheap deal… she would have to borrow some money to get it fixed. She needed the car to get to work so it had to be done…..and it had to be done quickly.
The mechanic friend suggested before she starts spending money she didn’t have…. she tries a product that he had heard about called Liquid Intelligence 245. A friend of his had fixed his blown head gasket with it.
She rang Liquid Intelligence and she spoke to me to see if it would work in her case. Based on the symptoms of her blown head gasket, which included bubbles coming out of the radiator, I said that there was a 90%+ chance it would work for her.
Anyway, she called me just before starting the process to make sure she was doing everything right. In her case it was simply a matter of pouring the liquid into the radiator and following a few easy instructions….. in a few hours the car was back to normal and fully drivable.
She fixed it herself… and saved a bundle.
